U9/10 Academy

Academy Program Overview

The U9/U10 Academy Program is designed for players who want to prepare for our Premier or Select programs. Players tryout and are placed on teams by coaches/technical staff. Teams in the Academy train 2 times per week, all sessions conducted by the teams’ paid coach/trainer. Our Academy Director oversees the program.

Follows Curriculum Phase I Introduction to the Game: Ages 6/7/8/9 (U7/U8/U9/U10) and leads into Phase II Basic Training: Ages 10/11/12 (U11/U12/U13)

The program is based on player development. The main focus of training sessions is technical, with some basic tactical understanding. Small group play is a key feature, where we stress technical development with decision making. This allows players to think creatively and solve problems. Matches are learning experiences. Winning is not the most important thing in the early years. Learn the game – you’ll get them later.

Current league play is in CDL Academy. However we are exploring options for a local area league that would keep travel to a minimum.
